Hi! Okay so I know this post is a little late but things have been so hectic with the renovations and just life ya know!
So this post is not exactly a makeup favourite – more a skincare favourite.
My sister and I were researching Korean Skincare, in a nutshell it is a 10-step regime consisting of:
– Oil Cleanser
– Foam Cleanser
– Eye Cream
– Face Cream
– SPF (for the day)
Which is done twice a day (yes, TWICE!) – so my sister found a sample kit on Wish Trend, called Klairs (link here) with the products we could use and test before buying the real thing.
Read more below about the products and the steps and my overall experience thus far.
Step 1: Oil Cleanser
My skin is quite sensitive especially to oil based products – I cannot use most oil cleansers without breaking out really badly.
This was so amazing! Not one breakout at all and the scent is so lovely! One of my favourites from the range.
Step 2: Foam Cleanser
This did not come with the trial kit – so I used my Cetaphil oily skin cleanser which is my go to face wash as has not failed my yet.
I have combination skin and this works wonders with keeping my skin balanced and isn’t very harsh.
Step 3: Exfoliator
Also not included in the kit, I used the Rooibos Exfoliator which is gentle and can be used at least twice a week without being too abrasive on the skin – also smells amazing and isn’t harsh on my sensitive skin.
Step 4: Toner
To be very honest, I never really used a toner before this for yeaaaars! (Longer than I’d actually care to admit) – this was refreshing and and not as harsh as previous toners I had used (which contained alcohol and was usually drying).
Step 5 and 6: Essence/Serum
I had been meaning to use a serum for quite some time but couldn’t find one that suited my needs – most of the ones in store was targeted at a more mature audience or was too harsh for my skin. This was beyond perfect! So moisturising, my skin definitely felt hydrated and basically soaked it all up. One of my favourite products out of the range.
Step 7: Face Mask
This sheet mask is soaked in the serum so of course it’s the best thing ever! Like a triple dose of the serum – I would usually do this once a week though and not every night as I felt it would be too much for my skin.
Step 8: Eye Cream
This was not included in the sample kit but my skin was in such good shape from the rest of the products that I barely think I needed an eye cream.
Step 9: Face Cream
The kit came with two moisturisers, a day and a night cream.
Both really hydrated my skin without making it too oily or sticky (it absorbed pretty quickly).
I enjoyed the Calming Midnight Lotion – after the long day it was great to know that my skin was being taken care of.
Step 10: SPF/ BB Cream
Since I was about 12 I have always used SPF daily on my skin (especially my face) – I love products that have both (like the blemish cream) – although, it was pretty light in colour and I had to actually put my BB cream over to balance it out – I was really happy about the SPF levels in both products and felt great about the protection it brought.
Overall – while it may seem extensive, you really get used to the routine and it’s great knowing that you’re taking care of the largest organ you have!
