February is on our doorstep and it’s the time where I am usually getting into the swing of things and trying out new experiences.
For those who may not know me – I love breakfast food.
Why have I never tried Batavia Cafe until now? For that, I do not have an answer but boy was it amazing!
This Sunday past, I met up with one of my friends and we enjoyed Sunday brunch at the stunning cafe situated on the corner of Rose and Church Street in Bo Kaap.
While their menu had a variety of options – I was immediately drawn to the breakfast items – because yum!
I had their Chai Latte with the Salmon and Eggs Benedict served on a croissant. Usually, I’ll admit, when I try this dish elsewhere, the hollandaise sauce is a bit overwhelming and the eggs are just drowning in it – this, however, was just the perfect balance between each bite and I really enjoyed it.
Living in Cape Town, I definitely take the beauty of the city for granted and I don’t explore it enough. Just walking around Bo Kaap for example, the place where both my father and my mother in law grew up, it’s amazing to see the community, the people and the culture.
If you checked out my Instagram – you’d see that I have been trying to get back into wearing heels (I live in sandals and sneakers) – I’ve always loved the power factor of wearing high heels.
